Den Den Dispatch is a One Piece fan blog for the chapter you need to talk about after you’ve turned the last page. New chapter breakdowns, theories worth arguing over, and a reason to revisit an old arc.
Meet the writer
I’m Mika Tanaka, the sole writer behind Den Den Dispatch. I’m Japanese and based in Yokohama. I got into One Piece through the anime after school, then picked up the manga because I couldn’t bear waiting to find out what happened next.
Robin is my favourite Straw Hat, and Water 7 is the arc I keep coming back to. I love a ridiculous theory, but I also like finding the panel that proves me wrong. My notes are mostly loose ends, chapter numbers and questions with too many question marks. When I’m away from them, you’ll usually find me browsing a bookshop, having coffee or walking by the water.
I write this blog for the conversations that happen after a good chapter: the detail you nearly missed, the old scene that suddenly makes sense, or the character moment that stays with you longer than the fight.
What you’ll find here
- Chapters: one report per chapter, starting with chapter 1190. What happened, the moments that matter and what they might mean, in a three-to-five-minute read.
- Theories: one idea at a time, with the evidence for it, the evidence against it and an honest verdict.
- Arcs: recaps and analysis of completed story arcs, including the older ones worth another look.
How I write
I work from official releases, follow the wider fan discussion and check the chapter details before posting. I link the sources I use and write in my own words. A theory stays a theory until the story confirms it. If something doesn’t hold up, I’d rather say so than force a clever answer.
Spotted a mistake or want to make a case for a theory? Get in touch.
