Hajrudin is prepared to die for Elbaph. The surprise is who he trusts to defend it afterward: Loki. Chapter 1191 turns a desperate rescue into a stand by two brothers who have spent far too long on opposite sides, with Luffy supplying the third fist.

What happened

The damage from chapter 1190 still hangs over the battlefield. Gaban has lost an arm, and Luffy is badly wounded. Luffy fears what will happen if he drops out of Gear 5; staying transformed is keeping him in the fight, but that is hardly a comfortable recovery plan.

When Luffy asks who they are facing, Gaban describes Imu as a god. It is a veteran’s warning about the scale of the enemy. Gaban also refuses to let Luffy reduce his sacrifice to taking a hit for someone else: Elbaph is his home, and protecting it is his choice.

Imu has survived Gaban’s attack and unveils a bulkier, more heavily horned form. The pressure of Imu’s Haki reaches even the island’s enormous wildlife. Whatever relief Gaban bought has run out; the enemy still has another way to fight.

There is a brief, tantalizing pause at the Owl Library. The books are safe, and Chopper listens to Biblo. His reaction tells us the conversation matters, but the chapter withholds what the owl actually says. We have a translator and a shocked listener, not an answer yet.

Back at the confrontation, Gaban wants Luffy out of danger. Luffy refuses, but refusal alone will not stop the next attack. Hajrudin does: his Gungnir sends Imu flying, and he then shields Luffy and Gaban from the retaliation. The intervention buys space without settling whether Hajrudin can seriously damage their opponent.

Gaban urges Hajrudin to get Luffy away. Instead, Hajrudin commits himself to defending his country, accepting the possibility of dying in battle because Loki will still be there. Loki arrives to answer that faith. Luffy rallies too, crediting the food he ate earlier, to Gaban’s astonishment. The three launch Gokoku Sovereignty together. Post-release scene analysis identifies it as a three-person Sovereignty attack; its decisive result remains beyond this chapter’s closing page.

What it means

Hajrudin’s trust is the development that gives the final attack its weight. Fighting beside Loki is one thing. Entrusting Elbaph’s future to him is another. The brother once treated as a threat becomes someone Hajrudin believes can carry their country’s hopes if he falls.

That trust does not settle the succession or tell us how the rest of Elbaph sees Loki. It does resolve one immediate obstacle: Hajrudin can act beside his brother without treating him as a second threat. The combined attack makes the changed relationship useful in battle.

Gaban makes that victory feel precarious. He has just demonstrated extraordinary resolve, yet he keeps asking the others to withdraw. His warning deserves to survive the excitement of the team attack. A man willing to lose an arm for this island is not recommending retreat casually.

Luffy’s return also needs careful reading. He is able to attack again; that much is visible. Whether his injuries have stopped being dangerous is a separate question. His confidence and Gaban’s disbelief sit side by side, leaving us room to cheer without declaring the crisis over.

Theories after chapter 1191

Confirmed: Hajrudin trusts Loki to defend Elbaph. His declaration and their joint attack make that explicit. A formal succession arrangement is not confirmed, and neither is every giant’s acceptance of Loki.

New speculation: Imu’s forms may involve tradeoffs. GrandLineReview and Ohara both explore whether the bulkier transformation favors strength or defense over speed. It is a useful possibility, but the changed appearance does not establish a precise ability system, a final form or a confirmed Devil Fruit classification.

Strengthened question: what does Biblo know? Chopper’s reaction makes the library conversation worth watching closely. The idea that Biblo holds information useful against Imu is still a theory here. Naming a particular weapon, secret or solution would run ahead of the reveal.

Not established: Hajrudin shares every ability of his partners. Participating in one combined technique does not demonstrate that all three fighters possess the same Haki. The scene confirms their cooperation; individual powers need their own evidence.
